Dangling a wakesurf board design project in front of a designer is like teasing a 3-year-old with bubbles and sidewalk chalk. I created the Pfish wakesurf design that exemplifies the latest industry trend of high contrasting flat color blocking paired with a minimal product name badge. I wanted to reinforce the Airhead brand with a clean modern feel and felt the horizontal text logo was not getting it done by itself. So, I created a mark with the Airhead A cut out of a circle and loved the flexibility of additional visual options it presented. After further working with the mark I was pleased that it transcended into the overall brand's presence in more than just product design. Before long it evolved into the brand's social media avatar and later onto our business card design and website's favicon also establishing a seat in the brand guidelines.
